Grandparents’ Day 2025-2026 will be held the first week of November 2025. Specific dates and times will vary by campus. Details will be updated as the school year begins.

Exam Information & Schedule:
Upper school students will take exams in all core subjects. Teachers will notify students of the location of individual course exams.
Standard exams will be administered 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM Monday through Friday. Students must arrive on campus by 8:15 AM and be picked up by 10:45 AM for standard exams or use the library for quiet study.
Exams administered with accommodations will begin at 11:30 AM Monday through Thursday and students should arrive on campus by 11:15 AM. Friday’s exams with accommodations will begin at 8:30 AM; students should arrive by 8:15 AM.

Exam Week Quiet Study
The Bryan Library will be open Monday through Thursday 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM and Friday 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM.

6th Grade Information:
Sixth grade students do not take exams during Exam Week and do not come to campus. Students will have ERB testing administered the last week of classes during the school day. The last day of class will be Friday, December 13.
7th Grade Exam Information & Schedule:
Seventh grade students will take exams in Math, English, and World Language at the beginning of the exam period and ERB tests (standardized tests) at the end of the exam period. Exams for seventh grade students will be administered in the Alumni Gym.
Standard exams will be administered 8:30 AM -10:30 AM on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Students must arrive on campus by 8:15 AM and be picked up by 10:45 AM for standard exams or use the library for quiet study. ERBs will be on Thursday and Friday 8:30 AM – 10:45 AM. Students should arrive by 8:15 AM and be picked up at the conclusion of the testing time.
Exams administered with accommodations will begin at 11:30 AM Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Students should arrive on campus by 11:15 AM. ERBs will be administered beginning at 8:30 AM on Thursday and Friday.

We invite all 10th grade parents to join us for our fall Coffee with the College Counselors on November 5 from 8:15am-9:30am in the Busey Boardroom located on the third floor of the Haskell Center. This informal gathering will feature an open forum and Q&A session, giving you the chance to connect with our counselors and ask any questions you may have.
Save the date for our spring Coffee with the College Counselors on January 27, where we’ll cover more topics like course selection and planning for the years ahead. For your convenience, there will be both a morning and evening option for the spring coffee event. We look forward to seeing you there!
Please join us for the Parents Association Meeting on Friday, January 17, at 8:15 a.m. in Harden Hall. May Ibasco, Tyler Bond, and Maria Carter from ESJ’s College Counseling office will speak. Coffee and waters provided.
The ESJ Parents’ Association is collecting gently used artificial Christmas Trees, working lights not required. Please contact Katie Athey (904.333.5606) or Melanie Davis (904.898.8343) if you are able to donate. We would love to have them by November 15 but will be collecting through exam week.
If you would like to support ESJ Fine Arts, please join us for a FANS meeting on Thursday, November 21, in the Fine Arts lounge located in the Munnerlyn Center from 8:15 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. After the meeting, we will decorate the Christmas tree in the Munnerlyn Center. We always have coffee and treats, so please join us in support of the Fine Arts program!
Fine Arts Nurturing Students is a parent volunteer organization that serves to enhance the fine arts experience for every Episcopal student and the entire ESJ community. FANS provides essential support to the fine arts’ students and faculty. As an Episcopal parent, you are automatically a member of every parent organization, including FANS!

Join us on Wednesday, December 4, from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. for our Holy Night Youth Event. This is an opportunity to prepare for Christmas and prepare for Christ in the midst of all the busyness. Upper School students, invited Middle School groups, and invited local youth groups with a youth group leader(s) may attend.
Admission is free with a donation of a new toy or non-perishable food item. Students will gather in the Deming Theatre at 6:30 p.m. We will watch Christmas with the Chosen: “Holy Night”. After the mini-movie we will venture outside for fun, fellowship, and food. A food truck and tasty treats will be on site.

Come by whenever you want after drop-off 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. All are welcome, including those of you who may have read without coming to the groups or may be interested in participating next year. We hope you enjoyed reading Never Enough: When Achievement Culture Becomes Toxic-And What We Can Do About It by Jennifer Breheny Wallace and found it helpful. We’ll be visiting and talking about books for next year. Hope you can stop by!
