The Episcopal Weightlifting team consists of athletes from ninth through twelfth grades. The program practices in the new Jangro Stadium complex. The team is led by Garrett Scantling ’11.
In 2020, Episcopal’s second weightlifting team member in program history signed to compete at the collegiate level. The program continues to grow each year.

Garrett Scantling

Garrett Scantling ’11 is in his second year of leading the Girls Weightlifting program. In its inaugural season the program had 18 Eagles advance to the district championships leading to a third-place finish, and advanced eight girls to the regional championships. Coach Scantling brings his knowledge of weightlifting from his years as an Olympic Decathlete for Team USA, where he is currently the seventh ranked decathlete in world history. With his knowledge of creating and implementing training plans, along with his energy and love for the Episcopal family, the potential for this team is endless.
