Position Overview: 

Episcopal School of Jacksonville’s Fine Arts Department seeks a piano accompanist and music instructor to participate in the thriving choral and theatre programs. The accompanist would teach a middle school music class, and serve as the accompanist for upper school chorale, middle school chorale and advanced theatre ensembles. This pianist and music teacher would collaborate with the Director of Choral Music to foster growth, development, and retention of the choral program, and serve as the Musical Director for our upper and middle school musicals, joining the team of directing professionals to foster the success of the theatre program. The candidate should be proficient in piano, a strong sight reader, and confident in musical theatre directing.

Contribution to the broader school community, through activities such as academic advising, supervisory duties, and coaching or sponsoring extracurricular programs, is expected of all community members. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Music or an appropriate field of study from a four-year college or university, or post-graduate work in piano, choral music, or musical theatre; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Three years of teaching experience in piano accompaniment and teaching is preferred. Experience conducting, playing in a pit orchestra, and leading other musicians is also preferred.
